OPPORTUNITY

Approaching obstacles head-on

B4A is dedicated to increasing diversity, inclusion, and access in the BMX community by providing financial support to teams and clubs that recruit underserved riders, developing BMX racing infrastructure, and advocating for upgrading existing tracks to meet UCI standards. Working with local and international partners, B4A is committed to advancing the sport of BMX racing and increasing participation.

Team Funding

B4A is committed to ensuring that BMX teams are as diverse and inclusive as possible. We provide financial support to teams that recruit and support underserved BMX riders to join their teams and impact the community. Through our resources, teams can access funds to increase the participation of underserved riders and build a more comprehensive, more robust network that will help them compete and grow.

Teams can also be provided resources to invest in better equipment, pay for training and travel, and expand their outreach efforts. By creating a more diverse and inclusive environment, teams will help develop the boundaries of BMX and bring greater understanding and acceptance among all riders. B4A is dedicated to supporting teams taking the steps necessary to make BMX more accessible to everyone.

Club Funding

B4A supports the BMX riding community by providing financial support to BMX Clubs that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The clubs will be eligible to receive funding support to launch or expand an existing rider development program if they meet specific criteria. In order to receive the support, the club must demonstrate that they are actively recruiting and supporting an underserved group of BMX Riders and commit to having a diverse board as well as providing matching funds. The money allocated by the B4A will support the riders and clubs to make a difference in their local BMX riding community, offer help to those most in need, and promote and foster a culture of inclusion throughout the BMX riding world.

B4A’s funding guidelines are aligned to the National Lottery Commissions Grant Program.

Infrastructure

A priority for B4A is to support the development of BMX racing and pump tracks by providing resources and expertise through local and international partners with experience in building tracks. B4A’s mission is to advance the sport of BMX racing, and establishing a place for underserved riders to access is a critical first step. B4A will also advocate and support upgrading existing tracks to support international competitions that meet UCI standards. This will require partnerships with existing actors to develop joint proposals for this endeavour. B4A is currently engaging communities, local government officials, international donors, and other key stakeholders in this effort.
